The Crystal Palace burned down 85 years ago - as opposed to Arsenal, who are still in the process of burning everything down.

Also, be careful - you forget one of those closing </dadjoke> tags and things could really spiral out of control.

Great writeups! I enjoyed the historical context - I had thought "The Kop" was always in reference to Anfield; I didn't know it was a thing at other grounds, too.

I have to know -- is your closing based on Jerry Springer? Enjoyed that show for all the wrong reasons.

Thinking about the USMNT makes me wonder whether they deserved that 10 ranking -- their relative youth & inexperience along with the need to heavily rely upon 2nd, 3rd and so on tiered players in qualifying, would lead me to think that maybe a 10 ranking might be not only overblown, but adding additional pressure on a team already under pressure. In addition, i'm curious to know more about how the atmosphere impacts players -- opposing team's country, less than stellar pitch, i can fathom why, but have a difficult time wrapping my head around how that translates to on field performance in such a significant game altering way. Ive been to Honduras -- surprisingly enough to learn how to scuba dive. From bulletproof glass and fully armored and kitted military at bus stops, to stories on the boat about how families in the area get rich from snagging drug drops from smugglers fleeing the authorities, i can see how it's a different world than theyre used to.
