still devastated by Italy’s collapse. we deserved fuck all in that game, but we wouldn’t have even been there if Jorginho doesn’t have a month-long psychological emergency around his penalty technique 🤦🏻♂️
re: Groups of Death though, kinda hard to see a proper one as the sides in Pot 3 look pretty uneven outside of Senegal, though i could see worlds where Morocco, Serbia, or Poland show up in pretty good form
would love to see
Brazil
Germany
Serbia
Cameroon
from a “fuck those will all be competitive games and maybe one of Brazil or Germany will go out” standpoint and, conversely, would love to see
France
Netherlands
Senegal
Canada
from an aesthetic point of view, might make for some cracking games
As a relatively new footy fan (circa 2015) I have literally never cared about the World Cup before, as the US hasn't been involved in the lifetime of my fandom.
Do I even want to know how much an ad agency conned a global brewery into spending in this decade's version of Second Life? Sorry, been working on the web since 1996, and have become very, very cynical about every next new thing. TBF, my cynicism is running 100% correct.
Week: American Exceptionalism
Thanks for the Italian haha up there. I guess I don't have to split my allegiances between the US and Italy this go-round.
Why would you want Senegal to be in a group of death situation?

Just saw this from Men in Blazers' newsletter:

Apparently England wants us in their group. I wouldn't mind raining some hell on the Lions.
